The Overlooked Beauty of the Mundane

Dedicated to @stevegetssober

I rest my chin on your freshly-cleaned frame,
The gentlest breeze brushing
My wide-eyed gaze.

You’re so close to me.

For a moment
(An intimate moment)
I am dazzled.
How your light burns
And penetrates my soul.

You’re so near.

I close my eyes
And I see what you saw
in me
The impression etched deep
Remaining.

We’re next to each other.

This moment
Anticipated
I feared would never come.

I see you now
Clearly.
